This week we welcome Fr. Jim Clarke of the Xaverian Missionaries, whose Scottish base is at the Conforti Centre in Coatbridge, to make a mission appeal. Your support is greatly appreciated.

 

The Offertory Collections last weekend amounted to £378.39, grateful thanks to all donors.

Pray for Life Novena: Bishop John Keenan (Paisley Diocese) invites you to join the Novena for Life from Thursday 23 May to the feast of the Visitation, to pray for the protection of human life. Sign up to the Novena at prayforlife.ie The Feast of the Visitation is a celebration of joy in new life, and we pray to return to a society that values and protects all human life from the moment of conception to its natural end. The Novena will lead up the annual Day for Life on Sunday 16 June.

 

Corpus Christi – 2 June: St Patrick’s, Cowgate, Edinburgh, EH1 1TQ, on Sunday 2 June, beginning with Mass celebrated by Archbishop Cushley at 11.00am, followed by a procession. All are welcome to this special event. First Holy Communicants are encouraged to wear their First Holy Communion outfits. St Patrick’s hosts a 40 Hours’ devotion ahead of the event.

 

Treasuring the Gift – Sacred Scripture Reflection Day: The translation of the Bible that we hear at Mass is changing this, Advent. Our Archdiocese has organised a day of prayer, study and discussion to learn more about this and to reflect on the gift of the Word of God to the Church. Treasuring the Gift takes place on Saturday 8th June 1-am – 3pm at the Gillis Centre. Register at bit.ly/treasuring the gift

 

St Margaret’s Pilgrimage -23 June: Gather in faith and thanksgiving to celebrate Scotland’s patron saint in Dunfermline on Sunday 23 June. The procession to St Margaret’s Church takes place from the Glen Gates in Bridge Street to the Church at 2pm, followed by Mass at 3pm. Ecumenical prayer at the tomb of St Margaret at Dunfermline Abbey is at 12.30pm. All welcome – no registration required.

 

Mass for Married and Engaged Couples: The annual Mass for Married and engaged Couples takes place at 7.15pm on Wednesday 29 May at St Mary’s Cathedral, Edinburgh. Come and celebrate the gift of marriage, renew your commitment, and receive God’s blessing upon your love. Requests for special invitations for couples celebrating significant anniversaries can be made at vemarriage@staned.org.uk or by calling 0131 334 1693.
