Parental Information Evening: Sacrament of Confirmation
A number of years ago, the decision was taken to confer the Sacrament of Confirmation on children in primary 7 rather than primary 4. We are therefore looking forward to celebrating this sacrament with our young people for the first time in 4 years.
As a result of the changing circumstances of the pandemic, the arrangements for this celebration are still being made. However, I can confirm that we will be celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation at St Mary’s Church, and that the service will be led by Fr. Forrest, our parish priest. We will contact you again to confirm the date and time.
In the meantime, as your child begins their preparation for this Sacrament, I would like to extend an invitation to you as their parents/carers to attend an online information evening. At this session, I will be joined by school staff and we will seek to answer the following questions:
You will also have an opportunity to share any other questions you may have.
What is the Sacrament of Confirmation and why is it important?
What will happen at the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation?
What will be covered in their preparation in school, and how can I help them at home?
For more information or to register for this event, email callum.timms@rcboness.org.
During Lent, we would usually offer the opportunity to attend a Holy Communion Service and Stations of the Cross weekly. While we are unable to gather during Lent this year, we will continue to offer the opportunity to pray, reflect and meditate together upon the Stations of the Cross.
