The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the official title given to the journey taken by adults who wish to become Catholic. So often we are approached by families or individuals where someone attends Mass regularly and either wishes to become Catholic or wants to find out more about the faith. If this is you, or you know someone who would like to explore their faith, we’d like to offer a very warm welcome to our RCIA open evening in the church hall on Wednesday 27th September at 7.30pm! We will be joined by those who have made this journey before and will discuss what the sessions would look like.
Mark Booker from SCIAF hosts a two-part workshop on 21 and 28 September, 7-9pm at Sacred Heart Church, 28 Lauriston Street, Edinburgh, EH3 9DJ. It is titled ‘Catholic Social Teaching in Action: The SCIAF Approach’. It will highlight the charity’s work and how Catholic Social Teaching can be put into action in the light of the Gospel. The Catholic Parliamentary Office hosts ‘Free2Pray’, a webinar taking place at 7:45pm on Friday 3 October. It will highlight a bill in the Scottish Parliament that could result in the imprisonment of anyone who prays or offers help near abortion centres. It is vital that Catholics, and all concerned for freedom of speech and assembly, make a response to this dangerous Bill. Register for the session at bit.ly/free2pray

Teams of Our Lady

Teams consist of four to six couples and a spiritual counsellor, often a priest, who meet roughly once a month in each other's homes becoming, over time, a strong supportive group. An open information evening takes place on Tuesday 10 October, 6:30pm - 7:30pm in Ss John Cantius & Nicholas Church Hall, Broxburn, EH52 5RJ.
